Gaming • how do I play games on Linux?

Please don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that either of the quoted games are unplayable. I am saying that "I" couldn't get them to play. I also get Civ III to launch and it always crashes when I want actually begin the game. I have tried multiple versions of Proton and GE, to no avail. As I said; I am not the most technically proficient of people and my post was just to show that a good gaming experience could still be achieved in spite of that. Thanks for the advice though. I will certainly have a look at the steps you have linked to.

Re: Force Unleashed II: have this through Prime gaming so maybe there a few additional things I could have done compatibility-wise if it had been through Steam, I don't know. This is something I may try to revisit as my technical abilities increase (if they ever do).

No problem. It was just a couple of suggestions to look at if you wanted to :). For Force Unleashed II you could try installing the Amazon Games App in Lutris (if you haven't already) and tinker with the settings in there if necessary.

[Edit] Just a mini update. I installed Force Unleashed II on the Amazon Games App and it ran quite well. I did have an issue while using the keyboard & mouse where the character was fairly uncontrollable (every move of the mouse made the camera go crazy) but after switching to my XBox controller it was absolutely fine. I'm using wine-ge-8-24 if it helps on Lutris 0.5.14.

I'll stop derailing this thread with game-specific posts now :)
Thanks for posting this. I had only tried up to 8-15, so will have another look at Force Unleashed II with the wine version you mention.

Be Lucky.
